We are hiring a Finance Manager!

Job Summary

     Roads to Recovery is seeking a Finance Manager to join our
20+ employee nonprofit organization in Lynchburg. Our mission is to assist people to find and sustain recovery from substance use disorders, and to eliminate the stigma that prevents people from getting help.

     The finance Manager provides leadership for the organization's financial functions and some human resources functions. This position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, including service delivery, policies, procedures, and practices. This person reports to the CEO and will also interact with the Board of Directors. Lived experience of personal or family recovery is a plus; willingness to support others' recovery is a must.

Job Duties

  • Management of all accounting functions - accounts payable, accounts receivable, electronic banking, monthly reconciliations, close month-end books.
  • Prepare financial reports and invoices for grants and contracts.
  • Prepare financial statements for review by the Board of Directors.
  • Preparation and management of annual audit.
  • Manager of all insurance policies.
  • Work with leadership to prepare fiscal year detailed budgets to be presented to the Board of Directors for approval.
  • Manager of all payroll functions. Administrator of benefits.
  • Produce budgets for grant applications.
  • Participate in fund development efforts for the organization.
  • Ensure timely completion of administrative requirements including SCC annual business registration, charitable solicitation registration with the VDACS, state tax exemption, and any other identified requirements for the organization.
  • Additional duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience, 5+ years preferred.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Familiarity with Google platforms.
  • Thorough understanding of day-to-day accounting processes, general ledger work, and detailed budget processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to Roads to Recovery's mission to support recovery and combat stigma.
