SERVICES

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

CENTER-BASED SERVICES

In addition to the items listed as Center-based Services,
our Residential Recovery services offers structured community living, including an option of housing for women with their children; Resident House Managers; 24/7 supervision; and the resources of the Roads to Recovery Center to provide comprehensive recovery management services.

We provide individual peer recovery coaching, groups to build recovery capital, opportunities to enhance life skills, assistance with finding employment,
help to quit smoking, and
so much more.

RESTORATION & REPAIR

Our first cottage industry program, Restoration & Repair, teaches job skills and provides employment for those with justice system histories.
We offer home repair, maintenance, construction, and landscaping services for customers in and around our Lynchburg community.

** We will find a way to assist everyone who seeks our Residential or Center-Based services for addiction-related problems, regardless of ability to pay. We will discuss financial arrangements privately with each individual. **

THE SHELTER AT RESET

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE

The Shelter, as it is commonly known, addresses the gap in our community’s homeless and housing services as the only low-barrier shelter available in the Lynchburg area. We
operate 15 beds and provide 24/7 coverage 365 days a year. Along with our primary goal of helping our unsheltered neighbors secure permanent housing, we also assist in obtaining legal documents such as IDs, help clients complete applications for housing vouchers, assist with finding housing at all stages. We partner with other organizations to help meet the needs of our clients when appropriate as well.

We offer a variety of outdoor activities throughout the year as an additional way to promote wellness, build community amongst our peers, and improve quality
of life. The activities also allow peers to redefine "fun" in
a supportive recovery environment through fostering new friendships, learning new skills, improving energy levels, and better managing stress.

RECOVERY SMILES

This project aims to improve the overall oral health of individuals in recovery from substance use disorders through awareness, education, and treatment while participants are living in an environment of overall recovery support that includes oral health in their recovery plan. Long-term outcomes include reduced health complication from poor oral health, improved self-esteem, more opportunities for job attainment and promotion, and enhanced overall quality of life.

ABOUT US

ABOUT US

Roads to Recovery is a recovery community organization; an independent, nonprofit corporation led by people in
and supportive of recovery.
Our mission is to assist other people to find and sustain recovery. Our goal is to develop and mobilize resources to increase the prevalence and quality of long-term recovery from alcohol and other
drug addictions. We focus on building services and supports to fill gaps in the system of care.

Most people who drop out of treatment say
they would have stayed if they could have
received practical support with other areas of life,
such as a job, getting their kids back, or housing.

The services we provide are aimed at reducing
the stigma that prevents people from getting help
.
Roads to Recovery operates a Recovery Center that is
the “hub” from which we provide peer recovery support services and promote a positive culture of recovery from substance use disorders. Our staff consists of people with “lived experience” of addiction and recovery who serve
as recovery mentors and system navigators. Roads to Recovery also operates residential recovery services that provide an affordable alternative to residential treatment.

What Makes Us Unique?

One thing we know for certain from 30 years of research
is that people have better results (abstinence + quality of life) the longer they stay engaged in supportive services.
In other words, the higher your quality of life, the more likely you are to stay in recovery.  Our services are designed to address what people care about, and to keep them engaged for at least a year, through a variety of recovery support services. This is what recovery management means, and it is what makes our services different from traditional treatment. Some services require a fee, while others are free, and individual situations are considered on a case by case basis. Some people will receive services through contracts with their referral agencies.

No one will ever be turned away
from Roads to Recovery due to inability to pay.
